SYSTEMS ENGINEERING AND MBSE OBSERVATORY
Gain an informed view of the state of the market in architecture, systems engineering and MBSE
A unique tool for measuring market maturity, analyzing effective practices, and comparing industry dynamics. A strategic resource for understanding what works, avoiding pitfalls, and guiding engineering transformations.
➤ Objective
Systems engineering is currently experiencing a major acceleration, driven by increasing product complexity, tight deadlines, and the need for controlled digital transformation. To support industrial players in this evolution, and drawing on 15 years of experience, CESAMES created an observatory dedicated to systems engineering and MBSE in 2024.
This observatory aims to measure market maturity, identify truly effective practices, and understand the differences between sectors: aerospace, rail, energy, defense, automotive, logistics, and other industries. By regularly surveying organizations, their architects, and program managers, we analyze the levers that work, the most frequent pitfalls, the success factors, and emerging trends.
The objective is twofold: to provide a factual overview of the state of MBSE in France and to offer decision-makers a clear framework to guide their transformation, training, and tooling strategies. This observatory thus constitutes a reference resource for all companies wishing to strengthen their control of complex systems and progress in the maturity of their MBSE practices.

CONFERENCE
MBSE: Past developments & Future trends
Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) has significantly evolved over the past 15 years, transforming the way industries approach complex systems design and management. In this presentation, Adrien Roques will share invaluable insights drawn from extensive collaboration with industrial clients, highlighting key trends in MBSE adoption, methods, frameworks, and tools. By reflecting on successes and challenges observed in diverse sectors, the talk will provide a comprehensive overview of the state of MBSE today. Looking ahead, Adrien Roques will explore emerging trends, innovations, and opportunities poised to shape the MBSE landscape over the next decade, offering a strategic vision for practitioners and organizations.
